Carroll County Commission on Aging

The Carroll County Commission on Aging is a panel of volunteer citizens appointed, for 3 year terms, by the County Commissioners. The Commission assists the elected officials and the Bureau of Aging in gathering public opinion, providing educational information and supporting senior related events and programs. Recent events have included the Town Meeting prior to the White House Conference on Aging and January's trip to the United Seniors Rally in Annapolis to speak with state legislators. Commission members are active in senior-related organizations at the local, state and national levels. This allows the Commission to have a large resource of information on key issues and how they may impact Carroll County citizens and policies.

The Commission on Aging is currently lead by Charles Greenslit, Chairman, of Mt. Airy and Vice Chair, Jean Fielding of Manchester. Additional members include: Wayne Horrell representing Eldersburg, George Miller for Hampstead, Joseph Vaughan, William Achor and Charles Wheatley for Westminster, Laura Claudy for Finksburg, Jerry Dayhoff for New Windsor, Glenna Boller and Clyde Springer for Sykesville/Freedom, Fairy Flickinger for Taneytown, Bonnie Hyde for Union Bridge, Gail Myers of the Carroll County Health Dept., and Darlene Flaherty as the Nutritionist.
