Bureau of Comprehensive Planning - Finksburg Community Plan

The Carroll County Department of Planning is now working with the Finksburg community to update its comprehensive plan.

Future Steps

Once all questions and concerns of the Planning Commission are addressed, the plan will become available for a 60-day public review period, during which written comments can be submitted for the official public record. Also, during this period, a public information meeting will be held to answer any remaining questions prior to the public hearing.

Shortly after the 60-day review period ends, a public hearing will take place to solicit both oral and written comments on the plan. The County Planning Commission will review the comments from the 60-day review and public hearing and determine how to address them. Revisions will be made to the draft plan based on the Planning Commission decisions and, when they are comfortable with the plan, the Planning Commission will approve the plan and forward it to the Board of County Commissioners with a recommendation for adoption. The Commissioners will then hold another public hearing on just the recommended rezonings. Again, any necessary changes resulting from this public hearing will be made. Finally, the Commissioners will adopt the plan.

If you have any questions regarding the update process or the Finksburg area, please contact the Department of Planning at 410-386-2145.
