Historic Trust Sites Sectors
|
|
Of the 9,000+ structures in the county built prior to 1950, over 1,600 have been surveyed and are
listed on the Maryland Historical Trust's Inventory of Historic Properties. Structures over 50 years old
and of architectural or historical significance are eligible for listing on the Inventory. The sector maps
below show the location of Inventory sites, along with their corresponding site number. Information
associated with the site number can be obtained through the Carroll County Bureau of Comprehensive
Planning or the Maryland Historical Trust. Sites that have a “U” listed next to them rather than a site
number have no further data associated with them. These sites either were not mapped accurately
initially or were identified as having potential significance but no further information was obtained. In
the latter instance, a survey would need to be completed to determine the type and significance of the historical resources that are present.
