- Carroll County's GIS layers are stored as ESRI shapefiles. The Division of GIS uses ArcGIS 9.3 for their map production and analysis.
- The County's most current digital orthophotography is accurate at a scale of 1 inch to 100 feet.
- All of the map data is projected on the Maryland State Plane Coordinate System NAD83.
