The Department of Public Works assists the County Commissioners in the efficient operation and maintenance of County roads, water and sewer systems, road construction and inspection. The Administrative Office includes a Construction Agreements Coordinator, and a Land Acquisition Specialist. The Department is comprised of the Bureaus of Engineering, Roads Operations, Solid Waster and Utilities. Through these offices, the Department maintains roads, bridges, and manages engineering and environmental projects, operates water and sewer systems, operates landfills and the County recycling program and enforces Public Works Agreements. Public Work Agreements are construction agreements between the County and developers/contractors for the construction and maintenance of public improvements. The Department procures land needed for construction of roads, bridges and drains, utilities and solid waste projects. |
