Bear Branch Nature Center has exciting opportunities for amateur astronomers of all levels.
A 29-seat planetarium allows visitors to tour the stars. Newly renovated in 2013, the planetarium
is now fully-digital, offering audiences a chance to participate in guided tours of the night sky,
visit the planets of our Solar System, and to view exciting feature movies about the heavens.
In addition, the Blaine F. Roelke Memorial Observatory was completed in 2015. This small observatory
houses a 14-inch telescope which allows users to view distant stars and nebulas. It also offers a
unique, up-close view of closer objects such as the moon and earth’s neighboring planets.
