Reduce Waste by Eliminating Junk Mail

Americans receive more than four million tons of junk mail every year. Most of the junk mail ends up in our landfill with about 50% not even opened! If 100,000 families stopped unwanted junk mail, 150,000 trees could be saved in one year.

You can have your name removed from mailing lists by sending a postcard to: Mail Preference Service, Direct Mail Marketing Association, P.O. Box 9008, Farmingdale, NY 11735-9008 and ask that your name be removed from the mailing lists being sold to the major mailing list companies. The next time you order from a catalog or send a donation to a non-profit organization, ask them not to sell your name to other companies.

Rent or borrow equipment that is seldom used.

Look in the local telephone directory for equipment rental shops.
