Camp C.O.P.S. 2014

Westminster, Carroll County, Maryland, April 21, 2014 -----  Carroll County Law Enforcement is proud to present the Carroll County Camp C.O.P.S. (Courage to be Outstanding with Pride and Self confidence). The camp, a joint effort between the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, Westminster City Policy, Maryland State Police, and Taneytown Police,  is designed to bring a better understanding of Law Enforcement to the youth of Carroll County, while working in the atmosphere of a Police Academy. Located at the Carroll County Farm Museum in Westminster, Camp C.O.P.S. is open to middle school students (those students going into 6th, 7th, or 8th grade).

Emphasis is placed on self-discipline and teamwork by participating in fun, challenging activities. Camp C.O.P.S. is a day camp that runs from 8am through 4pm each day, from July 14th through July 18th, 2014, and campers must bring a bag lunch each day.

Applications are due May 1st, 2014, and may be obtained from the lobby of either the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office (100 North Court Street, Westminster) or Westminster City Police Department (36 Locust Street, Westminster). Camp is limited to the first 100 applications. If selected, a representative from Camp C.O.P.S. will be in contact with further details. There is a $10.00 fee per camper, which is not due until registration is confirmed.

Please direct any questions regarding Camp C.O.P.S. to Master Deputy Worthy Washington (wwashington@ccg.carr.org) or Sergeant Keith Benfer (kbenfer@westgov.com).
