Carroll County Sheriff's Office Training Academy Graduation

Westminster, Carroll County, Maryland; May 11, 2018 ----   The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce the successful completion of our first Entry Level Police Academy. The CCSO Training Academy, which began on November 6th, 2017, has certified 17 new law enforcement officers: 11 Deputies that will serve at the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, 4 Officers that will serve at the Ocean City Police Department, 1 Officer that will serve at the Frostburg State University Police, and 1 Officer that will serve at the Hampstead Police Department.

Along with Graduation, the Training Academy also presented awards for excellence shown during the past 27 weeks. The Top Shot Award, presented to the recruit with the highest scores in weapons qualifications after more than 80 hours of training, was awarded to Deputy Neil Kleczek. The Top Driver Award, presented to the recruit with the best performance during Emergency Driving instruction, was awarded to Deputy Peter Knorr. The Top Academic Award, presented to the recruit with the highest GPA after all testing phases were complete, was awarded to Deputy Adam Biemiller, who was also the Class President. The Physical Fitness Award, presented to the recruit with the tops scores in physical fitness tests, was awarded to Deputy Scott Morgan. And finally, the Instructor’s Award, presented to the recruit who was considered the most improved over the course of the Academy, was awarded to Officer Devin Herold.
