Data Collection Project to Begin Dec. 3

To improve services for residents, Carroll County Government is undertaking a data-collection project. The County has contracted with Spatial Systems Associates of Columbia, Md., to gather information on street centerlines and attributes, building locations, addresses, access roads and driveways. As part of this process, Spatial Systems will be driving around the county with a camera-equipped vehicle to verify addresses. (Photographs of the vehicles being used appear below.) The public should be assured that the firm will not enter private property, nor will any photographs of residences be made public.

The project will begin on Monday, Dec. 3. Information collected can be used by planning, public safety and other county agencies. This data will provide answers to queries and support a host of analytical functions and applications across multiple county agencies.

The Board of County Commissioners appreciates residents' patience in this process. If you have questions or concerns please call 410-386-2053.
