Bureau of Utilities - Water Conservation

The Bureau of Utilities provides homeowners a chance not only to save water, but to save money as well. Little leaks add up in a hurry. A faucet drip or invisible toilet leak that totals only two tablespoons a minute comes to 15 gallons a day and 5,460 wasted gallons of water a year.

Winter months aren't as critical as summer months, but we all still need to conserve. Winter months focus on conserving inside. Take shorter showers and install low flow aerators on bathroom and kitchen faucets. During the summer months, people use more water. That means there are more ways to conserve. Collect rainwater in buckets to water plants and flowers and water lawns at night so the sun won't dry up the water.

Water saving devices and brochures are available through the Bureau of Utilities. You can order by phone, mail, e-mail, or stop in our office Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You can e-mail your requests to: dengel@ccg.carr.org
